It was published a list of cars that fall under the tax on luxury

Federal Tax Service has published a list of 449 vehicles that will be subject to a luxury tax. Among them there are 275 models worth from 10 to 15 million rubles, released no more than 10 years ago, as well as 174 models more expensive than 15 million, whose age does not exceed 20 years. The list includes such brands as Audi, Aston Martin, BMW, Bentley, Ferrari, Jaguar, Jeep, Lamborghini, Land Rover, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Rolls-Royce, the RIA Novosti agency writes. Like last year, only one Russian brand, Aurus, appears in the list, while the number of modifications of Senat sedan has increased from one to four.

In addition, five models of Korean brand Genesis, five of Japanese Lexus and two of American Cadillac are now subject to the tax. Federal Tax Service recalled that the transport tax for these cars is calculated taking into account the multiplying factor - in a triple amount. In the autumn of next year, their owners will receive the relevant tax notices for 2023. At the end of this year, car owners will have to pay tax for 2022. Recall that in March 2022, amendments to the Tax Code were adopted, by suggesting an increase in the minimum threshold for the cost of a passenger car, which is subject to a luxury tax, from 3 million rubles to 10 million rubles. These changes apply to vehicles purchased on or after January 1, 2022. For the first time the so-called "luxury tax" was established in our country in 2014.

Then the coefficients for tax payments were determined, depending on the cost of the car - for cars whose price exceeded 3 million rubles. Since then, every year, as prices rise, the initial list compiled by the Ministry of Industry and Trade has noticeably increased, and as of March 1, 2022, it already included 1,380 models and modifications. After raising the minimum level of luxury tax for cars to 10 million rubles, this list was reduced to 345 items.
