AVTOVAZ showed a new crossover LADA X-cross 5

AVTOVAZ, as part of the dealer conference taking place today in Sochi, demonstrated to its participants the new LADA X-cross 5 crossover. According to Fontanka.ru, production of this model will begin at the former Nissan plant in St. Petersburg in June 2023. The appearance of LADA X-cross 5 is similar to the FAW Bestune T77 crossover. By the end of the year, the company's lineup will be replenished with another crossover and sedan.

Recall that in February 2023, AVTOVAZ acquired a 99% stake in the authorized capital of Nissan Manufacturing Rus at a price of 1 euro. The deal keeps a call option for Nissan to buy back former assets in Russia for 6 years, subject to future decision and approval by the Russian government. Currently, the paperwork is being processed and the necessary approvals are being obtained for renaming the production site to “LADA - St. Petersburg”.

As AvtoVAZ President Maxim Sokolov reported earlier, by the end of 2023, the company expects to produce up to 10,000 LADA vehicles at the site in St. Petersburg, depending on the dynamics of demand in the Russian car market. In 2025 - 2027, the production at the enterprise can reach up to 50 - 70 thousand cars per year if there is a positive trend in the market.
