In the first week of April, 17.5 thousand new cars were sold in Russia

From April 3rd to April 9th, 2023, 17,474 new cars were sold in our country. As experts of "AUTOSTAT" agency note with reference to the data of JSC "PPK" *, this is 8% lower than a week earlier (from March 27 to April 2nd). Most often, in the first week of April (14th this year), Russians bought LADA cars (5,891 units), which accounted for almost 34% of the total volume. This is followed by four Chinese brands at once - Chery (2,272 units), Haval (1,398 units), Geely (1,392 units) and EXEED (819 units).

In addition to them, Kia (800 units), Hyundai (731 units), OMODA (542 units), Toyota (508 units) and Changan (311 units) also got into the TOP-10 of the most popular brands. Leadership in the model rating is still kept by LADA Granta. So, during the reporting week, cars of this family were sold in amount of 4,295 units, which corresponds to a quarter of the total. The second place was taken by SUV LADA Niva Travel (843 units). The third position and the title of the best foreign car belongs to the Chery Tiggo 4 PRO crossover with 791 units.

Also, the top ten of best-selling models included: Geely Coolray (722 units), Haval Jolion (679 units), LADA Niva Legend (657 units), OMODA C5 (542 units), Chery Tiggo 4 (503 units), Chery Tiggo 7 PRO Max (477 units) and EXEED LX (342 units).
