Imports of new passenger cars to Russia doubled, used ones - tripled

Car imports into our country continue to grow. This was told by the experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" during the last online broadcast "AUTOSTAT Operative. In compare with the same period last year, this figure increased by 97.8%.

The executive director of agency "AUTOSTAT" Sergey Udalov also compared the figures for February and March 2023. They differ quite strongly: in the first spring month, 37.2 thousand new passenger cars were imported, which is 13.3 thousand higher than in February. In addition, this is the highest monthly figure in the last three years. More used passenger cars are imported into Russia than new ones.

From January to March 2023, 106.4 thousand of them were imported into our country, which is 188.3% higher than in the 1st quarter of last year. At the same time, 39.9 thousand used cars were imported in March, which is a record for the last few years.
