Dealers brought Skoda Karoq crossovers from China for 3.4 million rubles

One of the dealers brought new Skoda Karoq crossovers to Russia. The price of the model is 3 million 390 thousand rubles, Rossiyskaya Gazeta writes. Under the bonnet of the car there is a 1.4 TSI engine with a capacity of 150 hp, which works with a 7-speed DSG "robot" and front-wheel drive, The crossover from China differs by a wheelbase extended by 50 mm from the European version, which allowed increasing the legroom for the rear passengers. The total length of the model is longer by the same 50 mm (4432 mm), and due to the reconfigured suspension, the car is 12 mm higher (1614 mm). As for the exterior, Chinese Karoq has a chrome strip and a silver insert on the front bumper, decorative trims at the junction of the wings and front doors, and fake exhaust pipes on the rear bumper. The model is produced by the SAIC Volkswagen joint venture.

Recall that earlier Skoda Karoq crossover was produced for the Russian market at the Volkswagen Group Rus plant in Nizhny Novgorod. In March 2022, local production and import of Skoda cars into our country were stopped, but the brand did not announce its withdrawal from the Russian market. Meanwhile, in July 2022, Volkswagen Group Rus finished its office in Nizhny Novgorod and left the production site at GAZ. As for the plant in Kaluga, according to unofficial data, negotiations are underway to sell it, and the dealer holding Avilon is called the most likely buyer.
