Chinese Skoda Rapid arrived in Russia for 2.3 million rubles

One of the dealers brought Skoda Rapid liftbacks from China to Russia. The price of the model is 2 million 299 thousand rubles, Rossiyskaya Gazeta writes. A 1.5-liter engine with 110 hp is installed under the bonnet of the car, which works in combination with a 6-speed automatic transmission. It is worth noting that the Chinese Skoda Rapid are slightly different from those produced in Russia: they have different bumpers, lighting equipment (without diode running lights), a radiator grill and even a bonnet with front fenders. Inside, cars from the PRC are distinguished by an LCD monitor mounted below the stove deflectors and a shield with analog instruments and a trip computer window. Recall that earlier Skoda Rapid liftback was produced for the Russian market at the Volkswagen Group Rus plant in Kaluga.

In March 2022, local production and import of Skoda cars into our country were stopped, but the brand did not announce its withdrawal from the Russian market. Meanwhile, in July 2022, Volkswagen Group Rus closed its office in Nizhny Novgorod and left the production site at GAZ. As for the plant in Kaluga, according to unofficial data, negotiations are underway to sell it, and the dealer holding Avilon is called the most likely buyer.
