It was presented a new crossover Kaiyi Kunlun, which is expected in Russia

Chinese automaker Kaiyi has launched the flagship crossover Kunlun, which is also expected in Russia. In the Celestial Empire, the cost of new items ranges from 100 to 150 thousand yuan (1.12 - 1.69 million rubles at the current exchange rate), the Motor.ru portal writes. In China, Kaiyi Kunlun should be compared with the "simplest" Chery Tiggo 8, but in Russia the novelty may be cheaper than the original model, because Kaiyi crossovers are planned to be produced at the Avtotor Kaliningrad plant, and the Chery line is supplied to our country from China. For Kaiyi Kunlun, two bundles with a 7-speed “robot” and front-wheel drive are offered: the base crossover received a 1.6 turbo engine (197 hp, 290 Nm), the top version has a 2-liter unit (254 hp, 390 Nm).

Plug-in hybrid versions with a 1.5-liter turbo four and a pair of electric engines have already been confirmed: they will offer three configurations with electric autonomy of 110, 180 or 260 km, front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. However, such Kaiyi Kunlun are unlikely to reach Russia. Recall that the first Kaiyi model in the Russian market was a C-class sedan called E5, which has already gone on sale. To date, it is offered in the only, maximum Luxury configuration at a price of 1 million 959 thousand rubles. The production of the novelty was launched at the Avtotor Kaliningrad plant in January 2023. The certification of the Kaiyi X3 and X3 Pro compact crossovers is also nearing completion and should go on sale in April. In general, according to the results of 2023, Avtotor plans to produce 30,000 Kaiyi cars of all models.
