Ural Automobile Plant showed a prototype of electric truck

Ural Automobile Plant showed a prototype of Ural electric truck with a 4x2 hybrid power plant. This is the first prototype in the line of electric trucks being developed by the factory specialists. The next one is planned to be made completely electric, without an internal combustion engine, and the third model should be a vehicle with hydrogen fuel cells, the press service of the automaker reports.

The hybrid installation of the presented prototype consists of electric generator based on an engine running on liquefied natural gas, traction batteries and a traction motor. The driving axle is driven by electric engine using the electrical energy stored in the traction batteries. If necessary, the vehicle is recharged from its own generator set on board, and the electricity from the traction batteries is enough to cover 100 km of track. The power reserve, with taking into account recharging from the generator set, increases to 500 km.
