Volvo truck started production in Kaluga

On the 19th January there was started a factory Volvo Trucks in Kaluga. There the foreign company started a full � scale production of commercial trucks. The productive capacity of the new enterprise constitutes 15 thsd trucks per year. The first phase will include the assembly of models Volvo FH and Volvo FM. We remind you that on the 15th October of 2007 there was laid the first brick of the future factory Volvo. The construction work last nearly one year and were over in a schedule date - a record for industrial objects of such level. The volume of investments into the project constituted 100 mln euro.
Today the park of trucks Volvo in Russia constitutes over 50 thsd units. It means that every fourth truck of western production in Russia is Volvo. On data of the agency �AUTOSTAT�, almost two third of all registered trucks Volvo in Russia are in the Central and North � Western federal districts (32, 9% and 32%). The parks of two regions are more modest, there are less of all Volvo cars in the Far East, because of geographical remoteness and specific character of the local market, saturated by Asian and old technics of Soviet model�s year.
