KAMAZ and State Unitary Enterprise Mosgortrans signed a two-year contract for the supply and subsequent maintenance of 1,000 electric buses. According to the terms of the contract, the supply of KAMAZ electric buses is provided from April 2023 to December 2024. Every month, 50 new cars will enter the routes of Moscow. The total amount of the transaction is 63.3 billion rubles, the press service of the automaker reports. As noted, this is the largest contract for the supply of such vehicles in Europe. Recall that against the backdrop of the cessation of supplies of imported components under the conditions of external sanctions, last year NEFAZ produced prototypes of vehicles on a new component base with their subsequent launch into serial production.

As a result, now the company will supply a new, sanctions-resistant complete set of the electric bus, which eliminates potential problems with maintenance and the lack of spare parts and consumables. Among the distinctive features of the improved version of KAMAZ-6282 electric bus there is an increased battery capacity, which provides a range of up to 90 km, a 100% electric climate system. According to Director for Passenger Transport of KAMAZ PJSC Samat Sattarov, in 2022, 55 electric buses were delivered to consumers, which provided KAMAZ with unconditional leadership in the segment with a share of 85%.

Currently, the release of the updated KAMAZ-6282 electric bus is being prepared; among the new products for 2023, one can also see KAMAZ-5222 electric bus. As AUTOSTAT previously reported, in 2022 KAMAZ continued deliveries of vehicles to Moscow and fulfilled two contracts for buses and electric buses, supplying a total of 218 vehicles.
