A plant for the production of trolleybuses and electric buses was launched in Chelyabinsk

On March 10th, Sinara – Transport Machines holding opened a new production facility - Chelyabinsk Plant of Urban Electric Transport (CPUET). The production of trolleybuses and electric buses was organized at the site in Chelyabinsk for eight months, the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation reports. The workspace is divided into several technological sections: blank production, welding section (includes 14 assembly and welding stations), anti-corrosion treatment of the body frame, assembly, as well as a diagnostic complex, which includes a test block and a delivery section.

The production capacity of the plant is 350 units per year, but in the future it can be expanded to the production of 1200 vehicles. The first lot of trolleybuses will be made specifically for Chelyabinsk. "Taking into account the renewal programs for urban public transport parcs that are currently being implemented, CPUET products will definitely be in demand not only in the Chelyabinsk region, but also in other regions of the country," said Albert Karimov, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.

Recall that STM holding announced the start of production of wheeled urban transport in June 2022, presenting a trolleybus of its own design development SINARA-6254. Also last summer, SINARA-6253 electric bus was presented.
