KAMAZ updated trucks of the K3 family

KAMAZ dealers have started the sales of updated trucks of the K3 family. For the last years, the plant has upgraded the old cabin of the 1976 model several times, which is installed on cars of the KAMAZ K3 family. The next update affected not only the cab, but also the chassis, writes the portal Wroom.ru. The vehicle received a new steel bumper, consisting of several parts (this makes it easier to repair), as well as LED running lights and direction indicators. The headlights themselves are framed in black frames. Inside, there is a completely new front panel, a modern steering wheel with buttons and a different instrument cluster.

The upgraded KAMAZ trucks are equipped with Chinese brand HanDe drive axles: they have an increased carrying capacity of up to 16 tons (previously it was 13 tons). The engine is a six-cylinder turbodiesel KamAZ-689 with a volume of 8.9 liters and a power of 390 - 400 hp. This is a former Cummins ISLe, but localized and renamed. As a result of modernization, trucks have risen in price by about 300 thousand rubles. For example, a KAMAZ-6520 dump truck costs 6.7 million rubles. It should be noted that KAMAZ K3, despite the outdated design, will still remain the most massive family of the plant.

Meanwhile, in February 2023, KAMAZ began the production of KAMAZ-54901 mainline tractors on a new component base that does not depend on supplies from unfriendly countries. During the year, it is planned to expand the model range of localized K5 vehicles with improved consumer characteristics due to heavy dump trucks KAMAZ-6595 and KAMAZ-65951. At the same time, cars of the K4 generation, assembled from the remnants of components, will be available.
