AVTOVAZ presented LADA Granta with a powerful engine

AVTOVAZ, within the framework of the 5th anniversary International Festival of Speed "Baikal Mile 2023", presented a new version of LADA Granta Sport, which for the first time received a "liftback" body. As before, the sports modification of the VAZ "state employees" will be produced by LADA Sport factory division, and sales will begin approximately in the summer of 2023, Za Rulem newspaper writes. Recall that from 2019 until last year’s crisis, LADA Sport produced other Granta - they were called Granta Drive Active, and they had an ordinary, 106-horsepower 16-valve VAZ-21127 engine. But now the manufacturer intends to return Granta Sport modification that was from 2013 to 2019. Under the bonnet of the car presented at Baikal there was VAZ-21127-95 engine. On this engine, the previous forcing solutions are applied, but the receiver is from 1.8 engine.

As Maxim Kadakov, the editor-in-chief of "Za rulem", said, thanks to the new intake and the new control program (control unit - Itelma), about 120 - 122 hp will be removed from this engine in the serial version. Recall that LADA Granta Sport of the previous years of production developed either 118 hp, or, after switching to Euro-5, 114 hp. The exact characteristics will be known later. In addition to a powerful engine, LADA Granta Sport features by sporty design elements. A stiffer and shorter-travel suspension improved handling.
