Board of Directors of AVTOVAZ approved the development strategy

Board of Directors of AVTOVAZ at the last meeting approved the main directions of the company's development, which will form the basis of the updated "Development Strategy - 2030". This document is expected to be finalized in the fourth quarter of 2023, according to the press service of the automaker. As noted, the "Development Strategy - 2030" of AVTOVAZ is being developed in pursuance of the state Strategy for the Development of the Automotive Industry, which was approved by the Government of the Russian Federation at the end of 2022. The state approach to the industry is based on the principles of satisfying the Russian market with highly localized cars, ensuring technological sovereignty, increasing the share of the automotive industry in the country's GDP, as well as increasing the competitiveness of Russian products on the world market and developing exports. To achieve these goals, AVTOVAZ's development strategy will contain a set of decisions and actions in five main areas: AVTOVAZ's dominance in the Russian market; expansion of the product line, including through the development of its own platforms; achieving technological sovereignty, primarily in critical technologies and components; development of export sales and an increase in the number of markets where LADA is presented, including with the help of local and global partners; maintaining the profitability of the business and achieving the financial stability of AVTOVAZ, including through the repayment of significant loan obligations issued during the period of the company's management by a foreign shareholder - Renault-Nissan Alliance.

According to the plan approved by the Board of Directors, in 2023 AVTOVAZ should produce 401.6 thousand LADA vehicles, including up to 100 thousand restyled Vesta cars. The company plans to export up to 20 thousand LADA cars. Belarus and Kazakhstan, as well as some other CIS countries, will remain the main foreign markets for AVTOVAZ in 2023. At the same time, it is planned to start developing new sales markets, such as Africa, Latin America and the Middle East. In the second half of 2023, AVTOVAZ plans to launch vehicle production at the former Nissan plant in St. Petersburg. These will be new models under the LADA brand in C and D segments, including crossovers and sedans. At the same time, AVTOVAZ continues to develop a new family of segment "B" on the global platform XJO, which will be produced in three body styles: sedan, station wagon and cross-version. Production of new items should begin at the end of 2024 at the company's plant in Togliatti. In addition, the debut of the crossover on the LADA Vesta platform is scheduled for the end of 2025. AVTOVAZ is also considering the possibility of developing a new LADA all-wheel drive crossover - the decision to launch such a model will be made by the company’s Board of Directors in 2023.
