Half of sold electric vehicles in Russia are made in China

For two months of 2023, 909 new electric vehicles were sold in our country, and almost half (49.4%) of them were produced in China. This is reported by experts of analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" with reference to the data of JSC "PPK" *. Among Chinese-made electric cars, the most popular products among Russians are Volkswagen (produced at joint ventures in China), Voyah and BYD. According to the results of January-February of this year, new Chinese-assembled electric vehicles were sold in Russia in the amount of 449 units, which is 14 times higher than in the same period of 2022. Every fourth sold electric car was produced in Russia, which is 225 units.

And here, of course, Evolute brand stands out. The share of American-assembled electric vehicles (91 units) accounts for 10% of the total, and Tesla is the leader there. Electric cars manufactured in Germany (85 units) accounted for 9.4% in the structure of Russian sales. The share of each of the remaining countries of production was less than 3%.
