According to the agency "AUTOSTAT", 20.66 thousand passenger electric vehicles are registered in our country (as of January 1, 2023). At the same time, 62% of the specified amount belonged to ten constituent entities of the Russian Federation. This rating is headed by Moscow (3.4 thousand units), where every sixth electric car is listed. The fleet of electric vehicles is twice as small in Primorsky Krai (1.7 thousand units), which is slightly behind Irkutsk region (1.64 thousand units). Then Krasnodar Territory follows (1.37 thousand units), and Moscow Region finishes the top five (1.19 thousand units). In addition to them, TOP-10 of Russian regions with the largest number of registered electric cars include: St. Petersburg (0.99 thousand units), Khabarovsk Territory (0.88 thousand units), Novosibirsk Region (0.7 thousand units), Krasnoyarsk Territory (0.48 thousand units) and Sverdlovsk Region (0.44 thousand units).
Experts believe that soon the parc of electric vehicles in Russia will begin to grow more actively - primarily due to the start of their local assembly. Thus, in accordance with the Strategy for the Development of Automotive Industry, in 2023 it was planned to produce about 7.4 thousand electric cars in our country, but manufacturers have already announced that they will assemble more than 18.5 thousand units. Thus, already in 2024, Russian electric parc can almost double. By 2025, the picture may change even more significantly, because only the plans of manufacturers include the production of more than 52 thousand electric vehicles. State support for the construction of charging stations (subsidized construction), including in the regions, will also contribute to the development of electric transport.
