Import of used cars to Russia almost tripled

According to the results of two months of 2023, 66.6 thousand used cars were imported into our country. As the experts of "AUTOSTAT" agency noted during the recent online broadcast "AUTOSTAT Operative", this is 2.8 times higher than in January - February last year. Of this amount, 35 thousand units were imported in January, and 31.6 thousand units in February. At the same time, if we consider the February result, then more than half (52.1%) of used cars arrived from Japan. Approximately equal shares in the structure of imports of used cars have Armenia and Belarus (14.1% and 13.4%, respectively). Each of the remaining countries accounted for less than 10%. The agency's experts also draw attention to the fact that the growth of imports of used cars to Russia has been going on since May last year, when parallel imports were officially allowed.
