On March 14th, sales of Tank SUVs can start in Russia

Russian online presentation of Chinese SUVs Tank 300 and Tank 500 is scheduled for March 14th, 2023, according to the brand’s Telegram channel. Considering that pre-orders for these models through a mobile application have already opened a month ago, since mid-February, it is logical to assume that the start of sales will be announced along with the presentation. Moreover, the first dealer centers that have concluded agreements with the manufacturer are almost ready to receive customers - in Moscow (three dealers at once) and St. Petersburg (also three), in Nizhny Novgorod and Kemerovo, in Mytishchi, Chelyabinsk and Voronezh. The official Tank website lists all the addresses, and everywhere it says: "Opening soon." The brand logo contains two Latin letters - "T" (TANK, technologies, trends) and "U" (union - community, users). Together, as conceived by the manufacturer, their combination is designed to reflect the close relationship between the car and the person.

The Chinese line of this sub-brand has a fairly large range of SUVs - Tank 600, Tank 700, Tank 800. Taking into account the current geopolitical situation in Russia and the world, they all have quite high chances of getting into our car market. At first, "Tanks" will be definitely brought from China, but nothing prevents the manufacturer (Great Wall) from starting to assemble these SUVs on the assembly line of a Russian plant near Tula. So far, it has been decided to launch Tank 300 and Tank 500 models. About the first one, we can say that it is a retro-style frame SUV. Some call it the Chinese answer to the Jeep Wrangler, and its exterior is often compared to that of the Suzuki Jimny. Well, Tank 500 is considered by many to be a competitor to Toyota Land Cruiser 300 and Haval H9 (probably due to similar dimensions). The platform of Tank 500 is called “extreme off-road” by the Chinese, its ground clearance is 224 mm. It is also known that this representative of SUV segment is able to overcome small water bodies up to 80 cm deep.
