The first car of the Russian company "Kama" will be called "Atom" and will be equipped with an electric power plant. According to the plans, Atom product line includes Duo, Family models, as well as versions for taxi and delivery, the press service of Ministry of Digital Development of Tatarstan reports. The electric vehicles will have a range of up to 500 km and a maximum speed of 170 km/h. The manufacturer promises an energy efficiency of 0.14 kW/km for electric vehicles. Atoms will ship with ATOM OS operating system, which can be controlled using an application on a smartphone.
According to preliminary forecasts, Atom electric cars will be used from 2024, and a prototype will be created by May 2023. As noted earlier by Sergey Kogogin, General Director of KAMAZ, there are trends in the world in the use of new energy sources, and the company is ready for technological changes. KAMAZ will support the creation of a new electric transport and will contribute to the development of the direction. Recall that earlier Kama reached preliminary agreements with Rosatom, according to which it will supply batteries for electric cars, the production of which is planned to be launched at a future plant on the territory of the Baltic NPP in the Kaliningrad region.
