In 2009 Hyundai plans to increase the import to Russia almost by 50%

In 2009 Russia plans to realize 137 thsd of imported cars Hyundai, as the managing director of Hyundai Motor CIS Denis Petrunin reported. As the agency Auto Business Info informs, this plan is based on forecast of the Committee of Car Manufacturers AEB in Russia about the market recession in 2009: - 19%.
In 2008 there was sold 91904 of imported cars Hyundai in Russia. In total, taking into consideration cars, assembled at TagAZ, last year there were realized 192719 cars of South Korean make at the Russian market.
In opinion of the leading analytic of the agency AUTOSTA Dmitrij Agafonov, the increase of share of imported cars in the total structure of sales of make at the decreasing market is strange. The growth of prices on imported cars, which became the total of beginning of functioning of new duties, the reduction of volumes of crediting, the unstable economic situation and the decrease in the exchange value of national currency have already influenced the volumes of sales of passenger cars in December there was registered negative dynamics of rates of realization. In this situation it would be logical to lay emphasis on models, manufactured inside the country, because their prices depend on rate of exchange of rubble and on introduced duties. Possibly, such optimistic plans of the company are connected with hopes for new models (recently there was represented Hyundai i20 successor of a popular Getz) and the hidden reserves of holding the prices at the same level of the last year.
