For two months of 2023, almost 50,000 new passenger cars were imported into Russia, a third more than a year earlier. This became known during the online broadcast "AUTOSTAT Operative. Operational information in the Russian car market. Results of February 2023". Also, agency experts noted: if in January the import was 25.4 thousand units, then in February - 23.9 thousand cars. Auto experts Sergei Udalov and Sergei Tselikov came to the conclusion that the import of new cars has stabilized. And if the figures remain at the level of 24-25 thousand cars per month, then by the end of the year about 300 thousand cars will be imported.

According to the results of February, the share of imported new cars accounted for 40% of total sales (of which 11% is the so-called alternative import). At the same time, a year ago, in February 2022, imports accounted for only 19% of new sold cars. Thus, this figure has doubled for a year. Most often, new cars are brought from China, the share of which in February of this year was 64.1%. Kazakhstan is the second one (16.6%), Belarus is the third one (4.6%). Note: the publication uses the data of JSC "PPK" ("Passport Industrial Consulting") - a joint venture of JSC "Electronic Passport" and LLC "AUTOSTAT".
