The number of registered electric vehicles in Russia exceeded 20 thousand

According to data of AUTOSTAT agency, as of January 1st, 2023, 20.7 thousand electric vehicles were registered in the Russian Federation. And it is only 0.05% of the total number of cars in the country. 60% of all electric cars belong to Nissan brand, which corresponds to 12.4 thousand units. In the second place of the ranking, far behind the leader, there is Tesla (3.5 thousand units), which accounts for 17% of the total. The third place is occupied by Porsche brand (940 units). The TOP-5 also includes Audi (865 units) and BMW (559 units). Experts noted that the top-five in total have about 90% of the entire electric vehicle fleet in our country.

As for the model rating, the leader, of course, is Nissan, represented by the Leaf electric car (12.4 thousand units). The second position is occupied by Tesla Model 3 (1.6 thousand units), the third - by Porsche Taycan (940 units). If we consider the geography of the fleet of electric vehicles, then the "palm" belongs to the Central Federal District (5.8 thousand units), the share of which is 28%. The Far East occupies the second place in terms of electric fleet volume (4.1 thousand units) with a share of 20%. Siberia is the third one (3.8 thousand units; 18.5%). The share of each of the remaining federal districts is less than 10%.
