A new domestic electric car Elecar Tigarbo GT-B is presented in Russia

Russian manufacturer of electric vehicles Tigarbo Eco has started road testing of a new compact sports electric car Elecar Tigarbo GT-B. The retail price of the novelty will be announced along with the start of sales, which is scheduled for April 2023, the press service of the automaker reports. Elecar Tigarbo GT-B electric car will be produced at Tigarbo Eco plant located in the city of Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, Rostov Region. At the initial stage, the level of localization of the model will be 80%. After the vehicle is launched into mass production, it is planned to increase it to 100%. An electric car designed for two people can travel on public roads.

Its design was based on the platform of the serial model - Elecar 5E-Tigarbo 2G passenger two-seat car, which has been available to customers since mid-2018. Tigarbo GT-B dimensions are 3120 x 1420 x 1850 mm. Curb weight is 650 kg. The novelty is equipped with a 20 W water-cooled electric engine. The power reserve from one charge is 60 km. The maximum speed of the sports car will be determined based on the results of road tests. The low-height sports suspension and semi-sleeve tires increase the vehicle's stability when driving at high speeds and cornering. In addition, lightweight forged wheels are installed on the Tigarbo GT-B. The braking efficiency of the sports car is improved thanks to the large brake disc diameter, powerful brake calipers and accelerated heat and pad dust removal system.

The design of the vehicle provides for a special safety cage, as well as spacers to increase the rigidity of the body. The two bucket seats are equipped with 4-point seat belts. As AUTOSTAT previously reported, in 2023 Russian car plants plan to increase the production of electric vehicles 9 times, by producing 18,529 electric vehicles. In 2024, this figure will grow to 36,096 cars, and in 2025 - up to 52,673 units, follows from the plans of automakers.
