Sergey Kogogin, General Director of KAMAZ, announced it, by adding that cooperation with partners in the development of gas engine technology on an accessible component base will also continue. As for the new family of medium-duty vehicles Compass, which entered the market in February last year, in 2023, in addition to the mastered production of Compass 9 and Compass 12 vehicles, it is planned to launch the Compass 5 model. It is possible to install various add-ons on the Compass chassis, KAMAZ press service reports.

In addition, Mr. Kogogin spoke about plans to create a passenger electric car "Atom". According to preliminary forecasts, electric cars will be used from 2024, and a prototype will be created by May 2023. In turn, the director of the car plant, Anton Saraikin, said that in the future it is planned to modernize the assembly line for the cabins of the new model range. Now it is designed for the production capacity of 20 thousand cabins of the K5 generation. In KAMAZ's strategy, new generation vehicles are the main point of growth, and an increase in their assembly will require an increase in capacity. As Anton Saraykin noted, after the events in February last year, which led to a change in the economic situation and reshaping of supply chains, it was necessary to increase actively the assembly of trucks of the K3 generation.

"By April, we must increase the rate of assembly of all-wheel drive vehicles to 120 vehicle kits per day," he said.
