In 2023, Russian car plants plan to increase the production of electric vehicles 9 times, by producing 18,529 electric vehicles. In 2024, this figure will grow to 36,096 cars, and in 2025 - up to 52,673 units, follows from the plans of automakers. According to Autonews.ru portal, Moskvich seems to be the most ambitious, which plans to assemble 10,015 electric vehicles in 2023, already 19,650 vehicles in 2024, and 25,000 electric vehicles in 2025.
The second place in terms of planned production volumes is occupied by Motorinvest, which assembles electric cars under the Evolute brand in the Lipetsk region. In 2023, they expect to produce 7200 cars, in 2024 - 12 thousand, and in 2025 - 18 thousand units.
The third place in 2023 should go to Electric Vehicles Manufacturing Rus, which will soon launch production of EVM Pro light electric trucks based on UAZ Profi in the Moscow Technopolis. This year it is planned to produce 783 such cars, but further plans are limited to 835 cars per year. Avtotor Kaliningrad plant, which is preparing an electric car of its own design, plans to produce a “pilot” lot of 200 electric cars in 2023. Industrial production should begin in the first quarter of next year, and the plan for 2024 is 1100 units, for 2025 - 2200 units. AvtoVAZ does not plan the mass production of electric vehicles in 2023. But in 2024, the company will produce 1972 electric cars, and in 2025 - 5800 cars.
Earlier it was reported about plans to produce an electric version of LADA Largus. Finally, GAZ Group plans to produce 331 units of electric vehicles in 2023, 537 units in 2024, and 838 units in 2025. The company already produces electric buses, and in November last year, GAZ presented a promising electric modification of GAZelle e-City minibus with a capacity of 16 passengers. As Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Albert Karimov notes, at the moment the production of domestic electric vehicles is in its infancy and has significant potential for development.
