The share of "Chinese" in the market of new trucks has set a new record - 55.7%

The seventh week of 2023 (February 13-19) again confirmed the trend towards a growing share of Chinese brands in the Russian market. This is especially noticeable in the truck segment. According to JSC "PPK"*, for the second time this year, the share of Chinese trucks approached 56%. Looking at the weekly results, this share has increased for the fourth week in a row and has managed to rise from 50.4% (week 4 of the year) to 55.7% (week 7 of the year). At the moment, this is a record: the previous result of 55.5% of the market share (fixed in January, in the second week of the year) can be considered beaten.

A week ago, the experts of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" stated that for the first time the domestic KAMAZ did not get into the TOP-3 of the model rating, giving way to the products of the Chinese automobile industry. However, from February 13 to February 19, the situation changed, and one of the models of the Kama Automobile Plant - KAMAZ 43118 - with the result of 168 sold vehicles, still managed to return to the top three, taking second place in the ranking. The Chinese SITRAK C7H remained in the first place, its volumes are almost twice as high - 372 units. On the third, stepping on the heels of the domestic "KAMAZ" - Shacman (Shaanxi) SX3258 (151 units) is located. There were purchased 2,355 new trucks in Russia from February 13th to 19th.

This is 1.3% higher than a year ago and 1% higher than the previous week. We also note that a high share of brands of Chinese origin is observed in another, in the most massive segment of the market - the segment of cars: according to the results of the seventh week, the share of "Chinese" there was 37.8%. In buses, this share was 13%, in LCV - only 1.5%.
