Volgabas increased the production 4.1 times in 2022

At the end of 2022, Volgabas enterprises produced 1,217 buses, which is 4.1 times higher than a year before. Thus, Volgabas Group completed last year with record production figures, which, in particular, is due to the fulfillment of a large order for St. Petersburg, where the next stage of transport reform was launched last year, as well as participation in large-scale bus fleet renewal programs in other regions of Russia, the press service of the automaker reports. In the Russian market in 2022, 1,146 Volgabus brand buses were purchased, which is 3 times higher than a year ago, experts of AUTOSTAT agency reported with reference to the data of JSC "PPK"*.

Recall that in October 2022, Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the government of Volgograd Region and the administration of the city Volzhsky signed special investment contracts with bus manufacturers Volgabas and Volgabas Volzhsky. Based on the terms of the agreements, the companies undertake to implement an investment project to introduce the technology of using liquefied and compressed natural gas as a motor fuel in the production of low-floor buses. Volgabas will invest RUB 278 million under the SPIC on this project, while Volgabas Volzhsky will invest RUB 708 million. During the term of the contract (9.5 years), investors undertake to produce more than 4,000 low-floor buses.
