Serial production of E-Neva electric crossover is planned to begin in 2026

Serial production of Russian electric car E-Neva is scheduled to begin at the end of 2026. Mikhail Podvyaznikov, Deputy General Director of JSC Concern VKO Almaz-Antey, Director of the North-Western Regional Center of the Concern, informed TASS about it, by adding that pre-series assembly of the model is planned to begin in early 2026. According to him, it is planned to produce about 55-65 thousand cars annually. Currently, together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the issue of a potential site is being worked out, where it is planned to produce E-Neva electric crossover. Earlier, AVTOVAZ President Maxim Skolov said that the company is ready to offer the facilities of the enterprise in St. Petersburg (the former Nissan plant) for the assembly of E-Neva electric crossovers developed by the defense concern Almaz-Antey. However, Mikhail Podvyaznikov says that no proposals have been received from AVTOVAZ. In turn, Deputy Prime Minister - Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov expects that the project will find production partners in the next few months.

According to him, E-Neva car, developed by Almaz-Antey defense concern, will be cheaper than American Tesla electric vehicles. E-Neva electric car was developed on the basis of an unmanned modular electric platform presented by the Almaz-Antey concern in August 2021. This is a crossover 4.5 meters long, which will be equipped with two electric engines with a total capacity of 364 kW. Thanks to the high torque (824 Nm), the electric car will be able to accelerate to 60 km/h in 2.7 seconds. The mileage on a single charge will be 463 km, the maximum speed is 197 km/h. The electric crossover will be equipped with 88 kWh LiNMC battery and energy recovery system. The spacious interior (trunk volume 610 l) is equipped with a modern multimedia system, including a digital instrument panel, a head-up display on the windshield and a 15-inch touch screen. Driver assistance systems and smartphone integration are provided.
