Iranian automakers are making plans for the Russian market

Iranian automaker Iran Khodro plans to supply 2,000 cars to Russia by the end of the first quarter of 2023, and SAIPA, which is also negotiating with Russian distributors, intends to sell more than 20,000 cars a year in our country. This was stated by Russian Ambassador to Tehran Alexei Dedov in an interview with RIA Novosti, noting that at the moment issues related to the certification of Iranian models and the formation of a dealer network have not been solved, which may shift the start date of deliveries. He also said that Russia and Iran are negotiating on the prospects for joint production of cars and components for them.

As it became known earlier, Iran Khodro plans to enter the Russian market with Tara sedan, and the first SAIPA models in our country should be the Quik hatchback, as well as Saina and Shahin sedans. Andrey Olkhovsky, General Director of Avtodom Group of Companies, says that the prospects for Iranian cars are not obvious yet - it is necessary to import and test demand for them. But at the same time, they will become an obvious competitor for the domestic AVTOVAZ both in terms of price and characteristics.

And if there are political agreements, then it will be not easy for AVTOVAZ in the market with all the problems with components.
