The agency "AUTOSTAT" presented an adjusted forecast of the car market for 2023

Russian car market is changing dramatically, and each month brings something new - accordingly, expert forecasts for the current year also change. High prices for cars are now playing against the market, and the fact that auto industry in the country is starting to revive little by little (we see new production launches and hear statements about future launches) plays into the hands. In addition, people need something to drive and someone just needs to upgrade their vehicles. And it is also highly likely that this year the corporate segment will make a significant contribution to the market - taxi, carsharing, etc.

All this was the reason for the experts of the AUTOSTAT analytical agency to revise their own market forecast for 2023. In the corrected version, even in the "worst" version, the experts do not see the fall of the car market. They believe that the factors that were observed last year (stop production, supply failures, etc.) will be minimized this year. Today, the main question is whether it will be possible to increase domestic production and by how much. Therefore, in the pessimistic scenario of the adjusted forecast, 630,000 vehicles have already been included.

And this is even slightly higher than the level of 2022 (626 thousand units). In the base scenario, 780 thousand units (+25%) are already predicted, and in the optimistic scenario - 870 thousand (+39%). However, in the current environment, characterized by a high degree of uncertainty, experts warn of the need to adjust the car market forecast once a quarter.
