AVTOVAZ faced a shortage of paints and varnishes

AVTOVAZ faced a temporary shortage of paints and varnishes. A representative of AvtoVAZ informed Vedomosti about this, according to which the company is in constant contact with suppliers in order to establish regular deliveries. In turn, Ministry of Industry and Trade, which provides support to AvtoVAZ in this matter, said that the absence of some nomenclature positions of paints and varnishes does not affect production volumes - it is of a short-term nature and will be stabilized in the near future.

According to AVTOVAZ dealers, now LADA cars can only be ordered in white, black and dark green colors, and the availability of cars in other colors is possible “not earlier than March”. Thus, the demand will not be hit hard by the current situation, as before that the vast majority of sales fell on black and white LADA cars. As previously reported by President of AVTOVAZ, Maxim Sokolov, the enterprise in 2022 and 2023 continues to produce incomplete LADA cars, later assembling them as the missing components are delivered.

Problems with components may prevent the automaker from fulfilling its stated plans for 2023 to increase production to more than 400,000 vehicles. Recall that in the context of a break in logistics chains, AVTOVAZ, together with Russian suppliers, was able to replace more than 200 positions of components and materials blocked for delivery.
