In Russia, it may be extended the permit for the production of "simplified" cars

The government plans to extend the simplified rules for certification of cars produced in Russia. This was reported by the agency "RIA Novosti" with reference to its sources in the industry. Recall that from spring until February 1, 2023, according to a government decree, simplified requirements for cars produced in the country are in force in Russia. The document allows automakers to refuse to install a number of systems on new cars. In particular, ABS and ESP, and the ERA-GLONASS emergency response system in case of accidents may not have automatic operation functions. It is also allowed to produce cars without airbags and with engines of different environmental classes, including the lowest Euro-0.

According to the deputy head of the analytics department of the agency "AUTOSTAT" Viktor Pushkarev, in order to ensure technological sovereignty, it is clearly necessary to localize the production of all the most important auto components in the territory of the Russian Federation. And this means that if it is planned to launch a full-fledged sovereign production of a particular Chinese car model, then it is necessary to create a full-fledged pool of enterprises supplying its auto components.
