Aurus took over 8% of the new luxury car market in Russia in 2022

At the end of 2022, 31 Aurus cars were purchased in Russia. This is 8.2% of the whole market of new luxury cars, experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" reported with reference to the data of JSC "PPK"*. As for the regional structure, most of all new Aurus cars were purchased in Moscow (23 units) and Moscow Region (5 units). This also included St. Petersburg, Kurgan region and Krasnodar Territory, in which by one Aurus was purchased. It is also worth noting that legal entities became the owners of 21 Aurus cars the last year.

Accordingly, the remaining 10 cars were issued to individuals. Recall that Aurus is the first Russian car brand in the luxury category. Serial production of Aurus Senat sedans started in May 2021 at a plant in Yelabuga, and at the end of November last year, the production of a new luxury SUV Aurus Komendant was also launched there. About 2 billion rubles were invested in production, logistics and IT equipment and systems of the enterprise.

Production capacities are designed to produce up to 5 thousand cars per year. Previously, Aurus cars were produced in a small series format at the facilities of FSUE NAMI, where production of special versions of Aurus cars is currently ongoing. In 2025, an enterprise in Yelabuga plans to master the production of an extended version of Senat sedan, which, in turn, will undergo a facelift by that time.
