The number of dealers of Chinese brands in Russia grew almost 1.5 times for the year

There are more than 1,000 dealers of Chinese brands on the territory of the Russian Federation, which is almost 1.5 times higher than a year ago. Such data were obtained by the experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" during the regular monitoring* of dealer networks of automakers officially represented in the Russian market. So, as of mid-January 2023, the total number of official dealers of Chinese brands in Russia was 1053. Given that in January 2022 this figure was 723, it turns out that it increased by 330 for the year, or 46%. Thus, today the majority of dealers in our country belong to the "Chinese". Previously leading European brands now have 721 dealers, less by 163 than a year before. The interests of Japanese brands in the Russian Federation are represented by 518 companies (-145 dealers in 2022), Russian brands - 452 (+34), Korean brands - 396 (-3), American brands - 24 (-109).

At the same time, many of the "retired" dealers have moved into the category of service partners. In total, according to the monitoring data of AUTOSTAT agency, as of mid-January 2023, there are 3164 car dealers in Russia. And this is lower by 56 than a year ago (3220 in January 2022). "In 2022, the process of transforming dealer networks began, when many companies began to switch to working with the "Chinese". This is especially evident in those who have previously collaborated with European, Japanese and American brands.

Apparently, this process will continue in 2023, as only Chinese ones remained among foreign manufacturers in Russia," Azat Timerkhanov, head of the press service of AUTOSTAT agency, notes.
