Recall that in early November, Mazda announced its withdrawal from the Russian market and the transfer to the Sollers group of its share in a parity joint venture for the production of Japanese brand cars at the Mazda Sollers Manufacturing Rus plant in Vladivostok. The deal was made for a symbolic cost of 1 euro and includes an option for the Japanese automaker to buy out a stake in the joint venture for the next 3 years.
In connection with the withdrawal from the Russian market and the transfer of a share in the business, Mazda Motor suffered a loss of 12 billion yen (82 million dollars). Mazda Sollers Manufacturing Rus produced Mazda CX-9 full-size crossover, Mazda CX-5 crossover and Mazda6 sedan. In turn, Sollers said that the company had already developed a plan to restart the plant in Vladivostok for the production of cars of other brands.
