Sollers resumed the production of eight-cylinder ZMZ engines

Since January 18th, Sollers has resumed the production of eight-cylinder engines at the ZMZ industrial site. Gasoline and bi-fuel engines ZMZ series 523, 524 were produced until 2021 at the Zavolzhsky Motor Plant (now at the Zavolzhsky branch of UAZ LLC) until 2021 and were used in many well-known models of commercial vehicles and buses, the press service of the enterprise reports. According to Ruslan Gorevoy, General Director of PJSC ZMZ, the ZMZ V8 engine, especially in the dual-fuel version, is competitive both in terms of price and operating costs.

In addition, the product has good dynamic characteristics in relation to commercial vehicles. Engines will be supplied to the secondary market of spare parts and to the assembly line, and production volumes will be adjusted depending on demand. As AUTOSTAT previously reported, at the end of November 2022, Sollers company launched the production of Atlant and Argo light commercial vehicles at the plant in the Alabuga SEZ. Within two or three years, the company plans to sell 30,000 cars under its brand; in the next 5 years, the sales volume and car production may reach about 50,000 cars. Cars are available for purchase in more than 50 dealerships in 38 cities of Russia.

Prices for Sollers Argo start from 2 million 559 thousand rubles for a manufactured goods van with a diesel engine. The price of Sollers Atlant starts from 2 million 904 thousand rubles - for this price, an all-metal van with a short base and an average roof with a diesel engine is offered. As noted, the new Sollers models will replace the Ford Transit that has left the Russian market.
