As of the beginning of 2023, there is still a shortage of spare parts for European, American and Japanese car brands repairing in Russia, surveyed insurance companies informed Gazeta.Ru. "Now the situation with the availability of spare parts is gradually improving, as most service stations have found alternative supply channels. The most problematic brands at the moment are BMW, Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, Volvo, GM, Lexus, Porsche. Accordingly, the terms for the repair of cars of these brands are longer," said Sergey Demidov, vice president of auto insurance at Renaissance Insurance Company.

In IC "Max" noted that the problem also concerns cars no older than three years from the Volkswagen group (all models except Polo), MINI, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Citroen, Renault, DS, Ford, Mazda, Nissan, Toyota, Subaru, Suzuki, Infiniti and others. In turn, Vitaly Knyaginichev, head of the retail business directorate at Ingosstrakh, said that the situation with the spare parts availability for Korean and Chinese cars, as well as for Russian-made cars, is much better. Earlier it became known that German sports car manufacturer Porsche has disabled its mobile application for customers from Russia, which allows you to control remotely some of the car's functions. According to dealers, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar Land Rover, Skoda, Kia, Infiniti, and Nissan also found problems with applications. According to experts, the lack of mobile services will reduce the convenience of expensive foreign cars owning, but it is no longer possible to count on their full-scale support in the current conditions.

Since March 2022, most automakers have not been supplying cars to Russian dealers due to a break in supply chains or the suspension of their activities due to external sanctions. Moreover, some officially announced their withdrawal from the Russian market, while maintaining the ability to return as soon as possible. According to Alexei Podshchekoldin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BN-Motors, as a result of sanctions, only 14 of 60 automotive brands actually remained in the Russian market. According to the most optimistic forecasts, the number of brands in 2023 may increase due to the arrival of Iranian automaker (Iran Khodro), the sales start of Moskvich brand cars and 2-3 Chinese automakers. With this in mind, the number of brands represented in Russia is unlikely to exceed 17-18.
