Toyota has completed the employees dismissal procedure of the plant in St. Petersburg

Toyota has completed the procedure for dismissal of employees of the plant in St. Petersburg by agreement of the parties, which began in mid-November. This was reported to the RIA Novosti agency in the press service of Toyota Motor, by adding that at the moment the company employs 277 people, among which 76 are employed at the plant in St. Petersburg. Earlier, on November 14, Toyota plant in St. Petersburg, in connection with the closure, began the procedure for dismissing employees by agreement of the parties.

At the same time, employees were paid from 12 salaries, part of the costs of retraining were compensated. Also, the employer ensured the terms preservation of VHI policies validity for a certain period. In September 2022, Toyota Motor announced the closure of a plant in St. Petersburg due to the impossibility of the rhythmic supply of the necessary components. In the future, the enterprise will be mothballed, and at present the government of St. Petersburg, together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, are working out possible scenarios for the development of this production site.

At the same time, the operating activities of the Moscow office of Toyota Motor will be optimized and restructured with a focus on supporting the dealer network to continue after-sales service for Toyota and Lexus cars in Russia. Recall that Toyota plant in St. Petersburg has suspended its work since March 4, 2022 due to a break in supply chains. The company produced Toyota Camry business sedan and RAV4 crossover. The capacities of Toyota Motor plant in St. Petersburg allow the production of up to 100,000 vehicles. For the whole history of enterprise, more than 30 billion rubles have been invested in the production development.
