The government issued a decree according to which 28 more regions will join the pilot project to create a charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in 2023. Among the new participants are Bashkortostan, Perm Territory, Volgograd, Kostroma, Ryazan, Chelyabinsk and Yaroslavl regions. In total, 40 Russian regions will take part in the experiment in 2023, the press service of the Russian government reports. Recall that a pilot project to create a charging infrastructure for electric vehicles started in 2022.

As part of its first stage, projects are already being implemented in Tatarstan, Crimea and Sevastopol, the Krasnodar Territory, as well as in the Leningrad, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Voronezh, Sakhalin, Lipetsk, Rostov and Tula regions. The creation of infrastructure for electric transport is provided for by the road map approved by the government for the development of production and use of electric transport. It assumes that the share of produced electric vehicles in the total production of vehicles will reach 10% by 2030. In addition, at least 72 thousand charging stations will be launched in Russia by this time. According to Andrey Terlyukevich, General Director of AvtoSpetsCentre Group of Companies, the problem with charging stations for electric vehicles in the country is still relevant. Many of them work on foreign software.

After the departure of some foreign companies, the maintenance of electric vehicles has become much more complicated. The infrastructure for charging electric cars in Russia is still poorly developed. Stations are centrally located in million-plus cities. In turn, Alexander Sorokin, General Director of AVTOTOR Holding, notes that the level of development of the charging infrastructure is not so critical at this stage. Charging infrastructure will be gradually developed with appropriate state support. Electric vehicles will be in demand exactly as much as the price of these products will be attractive.
