Russian market of new buses fell by 7% in 2022

The market volume of new buses in Russia at the end of 2022 was 12,898 units, which is 7.2% lower than in 2021. This is reported by the experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" with reference to the data of JSC "PPK" *. At the same time, in December the market contracted even more (-19.2% to 2,160 units). Over 40% of all new buses purchased the previous year fell on the domestic brand PAZ. In quantitative terms, this amounts to 5,456 units, which is 29.4% lower than the result of 2021. Three Russian brands and one Chinese - NEFAZ (1,425 units; -14.3%), Yutong (1,194 units; 3.3 times growth), Volgabus (1,146 units; 3 times) and LIAZ (1,069 units; -42.1%) are the next in the brand ranking. Let's also note the Belarusian MAZ (1,065 units; an increase of 2.2 times), which also managed to overcome the threshold of 1,000 units.

The indicators of other market participants are less than this value. Among the models, the first two positions are occupied by representatives of the Pavlovsk Bus Plant. The leader is PAZ 3205, with 2,452 sold new buses in 2022. PAZ 3204 is the second one (1,898 units). The TOP-3 is finished by the NEFAZ 5299 model (1,425 units). The results of the rest of the buses are less than 1 thousand units.
