LADA Niva Travel became the leader of the Russian SUV market in 2022

The bestseller in the SUV segment in the Russian market in 2022 was LADA Niva Travel SUV. Last year, 19,389 buyers chose this model, which is 25% lower than a year ago, the experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" reported with the reference to the data of JSC "PPK"*.

It is worth noting that Hyundai Creta crossover has been the undisputed leader of the SUV segment for the previous 5 years. Chery Tiggo 7 PRO crossover found 19,292 owners in 2022 (including the Tiggo 7), which is more by 55.7% in compare with the previous year. The third place was taken by Hyundai Creta with 18,886 sold cars (-70.7%). Haval Jolion crossover sold 17,447 units, which is more by 94.8% than a year ago. LADA Niva Legend SUV was purchased in the amount of 16,117 units, which is 35.6% lower than in 2021. The TOP-10 of the most popular SUV models in 2022 also included Renault Duster (13,468 units, -67.3%), Geely Coolray (12,999 units, +16.9%), Toyota RAV4 (10,001 units, - 73.6%), Kia Seltos (9,208 units, -45.6%) and Chery Tiggo 4 (9,039 units, -52.9%).

We also add that in total, according to the results of 2022, Russians bought 347,237 SUV class cars, which is 54.8% lower than a year before. The share of this segment in the reporting period was 55.4%.
