AVTOVAZ sold 188,645 LADA vehicles in the Russian market in 2022, which is 46.2% lower than a year ago. According to the company's own estimate, the market share of LADA was 27.9% the previous year, while in the autumn months it reached 40%, the press service of AVTOVAZ reports. As noted, in the context of a break in logistics chains, AVTOVAZ, together with Russian suppliers, was able to replace more than 200 positions of components and materials blocked for delivery. Car production was suspended in the spring of 2022, but assembly started again in early June. Since the end of August 2022, the AVTOVAZ car assembly complex in Togliatti has switched to a 6-day working week, in connection with which more than 1,000 new employees have been hired by the company. By the end of 2022, the production rate on the two lines was 24,000 vehicles per month, which made it possible to satisfy demand in the Russian car market.
AVTOVAZ's bestseller in 2022 was LADA Granta, the sales of which, according to the manufacturer, were 95,879 vehicles (-14%). The second place by sales volume was occupied by the flagship LADA Vesta with 29,206 cars (-74.3%). LADA Niva Travel SUV was sold in the amount of 20,683 units (-18.6%), and LADA Niva Legend was chosen by 18,097 buyers (-29.9%). LADA Largus retained the status of the most popular station wagon in the Russian market: sales of cars of this family were 17,711 units (-64.7%). At the end of 2022, AVTOVAZ almost completely occupied the niche of compact commercial vehicles (94%), having sold 6,770 special vehicles. It is also reported that 76,483 LADA cars of all models were sold to corporate clients.
In addition, during 2022, AVTOVAZ kept the number of export countries - these are 17 countries, to the markets of which 17,246 LADA cars were delivered (-52%).
