Where do Russians prefer to buy car tires?

The Russian car market became the second one in Europe but it is not for a long time

In 2008 despite the financial crisis the Russian market showed a 15-percentage growth and took the second place in Europe. In general according to the preliminary estimation of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" at year-end in Russia 2.78 million new cars will be sold against 2.42 million units the year before (+14.9 %). The volume of the German car market, despite some drop, will exceed the level in 3 million units at year-end and it remains the leader on the European continent. But this year Russia has overcome Italy, the Great Britain and France, state the analysts.
It is important to say that recent years there have been automobile wars for the fast-growing Russian market. Practically for all Asian auto manufacturers Russia became the largest sales market of their products on the European continent. Russia also was a priority direction of development for many European and American companies. Lately some assembly plants of foreign cars have opened in Russia. Almost every day there was information about opening of new dealer outlets in regions of Russia. Now there are more than 2,500 ones. According to the analysts of "AUTOSTAT" the total proceeds of the Russian auto dealers in 2008 exceeded 60 billion USD.
Unfortunately under the conditions of the financial crisis plans of many auto manufacturers and dealers can be reconsidered. According to Sergey Tselikov, the director of the agency "AUTOSTAT" in 2009 the Russian car market most likely "will fall off" 30-40 % to level of 1,7-2,0 million cars and again will take the 4th-5th place in Europe. The further destiny of the Russian market in many respects will depend on stability of the Russian economy which, as it is known, is built on raw materials export. The key figure here is oil and gas cost. If the prices go upwards, then budgets will be replenished and household income will grow as well, banks will revive and the car market will return to former levels. In case the low prices for hydrocarbons will stay on the same level for a long time, then the Russian car market can continue to fall further.
