    For the last year, 1 million 671.6 thousand new passenger cars were sold in Russia, which is more by 13.3% than in the last year. At the same time, in December of 2018, sales of new cars were 158.3 thousand units, which is more by 3.9% than a year ago. As for crossovers and SUVs, their sales in January-December grew by 18.1% in compare with 2017 and they were 729.2 thousand cars. The segment's share in total sales grew by 1.7 percentage points and reached 43.6%.

Results of the 51st week: domestic brands have regained their leadership in the market, and the share of "Chinese" is growing

If in the 50th week Chinese brands became the leaders of the Russian market for the first time, then in the 51st they lost this title, returning it to domestic brands. However, even despite this, the share of "Chinese" in our market continues to grow. This is reported by the experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" with reference to the data of JSC "PPK"*.

As it turned out, over 70% of all purchased new cars for the period from October 19 to October 25, 2022 belonged to Russian and Chinese brands - 4391 and 4302 units, respectively. Thus, domestic brands regained their leadership, which they had lost a week earlier. However, the share of "Chinese" continued to grow, by setting another record - 35.5% (previously it was 34.8%). In the brand rating, Russian LADA is still in the lead, the cars of which were sold in a circulation of 4097 units per a week. Then there are three Chinese brands at once - Chery (1771 units), Geely (997 units) and Haval (827 units). Korean Kia finishes the top five (757 units).

In addition to them, the TOP-10 included: Hyundai (604 units), EXEED (422 units), Toyota (323 units), UAZ (276 units) and Mitsubishi (244 units). Among the models, LADA Granta unconditionally excels - according to the results of the 51st week cars of this family were purchased in the amount of 2462 units.

The second place is again taken by the Chery Tiggo 7 PRO crossover with a score of 805 cars. LADA Niva Travel SUV (801 units) took the third position in the ranking, Geely Coolray crossover (564 units) took the fourth position. On the fifth place there is LADA Niva Legend SUV (539 units). The top-ten also included Chery Tiggo 4 (328 units), Haval F7 (310 units), Geely Atlas Pro (267 units), Chery Tiggo 8 PRO Max (230 units) and UAZ Patriot (208 units).
