  • 05.10.18 What kind of cars do people from Russian cities with a million population buy?

In the period from January to August 2018, 1.14 million new cars were sold in the Russian market. Three leading models, according to the data of the analytic agency AUTOSTAT, look like this: KIA Rio, LADA Vesta and LADA Granta. These three models have a significant lead over their closest pursuers and they are leaders in 13 million-plus cities of 16.

Voyah luxury sedan is presented, which is expected in Russia

Voyah, which is a part of the Dongfeng concern, introduced the third production model. Following the Free crossover and the Dreamer minivan, a sedan called Zhuiguang, which can be translated from Chinese as “chasing the light,” was presented. The novelty was the last in the originally announced family, although it was with the concept sedan in the summer of 2020 that the history of the Voyah brand began. According to Autoreview, Zhuiguang's main competitors in the Chinese market will be the BYD Han EV and Nio ET7 sedans.

The model is 5088 mm long, 1970 mm wide and 1505 mm high. The sedan has a 3000 mm wheelbase and base 20-inch wheels. It is built on the same ESSA (Electric Smart Secure Architecture) modular platform as the crossover minivan. Its architecture is not typical for the Chinese automotive industry: a double-lever suspension is in front, a multi-link in the back, adjustable air springs and adaptive shock absorbers are installed in a circle. VoyahZhuiguang is also equipped with a Level 2 autopilot, which has 12 cameras, 12 ultrasonic radars, five millimeter radars and two GPS units. So far, only purely electric versions have been presented, although a sequential hybrid will be released later, in which the gasoline engine works solely as a generator to recharge the battery.

The electric car is equipped with all-wheel drive: the front motor produces 218 hp, the rear - 292 hp, and the total output of the system is 510 hp and 730 Nm. There are two traction battery options to choose from: the standard 82.1 kWh battery should be enough for 580 km of the CLTC cycle, while the Long Range version has a 108.7 kWh battery and a passport range of 730 km. In any case, Zhuiguang supports charging from “fast” DC terminals: for ten minutes, you can replenish the charge for a 230 km throw. The maximum speed is 210 km / h for the basic version and 205 km / h for the long-range one, but they have the same acceleration time to “hundreds”: 3.8 s. The interior design of the sedan is similar to other Voyah models, although the front panel is devoid of a lifting mechanism.
