Sollers will resume the production of eight-cylinder engines in the first half of 2023. Gasoline and bi-fuel engines ZMZ series 523, 524 were produced at the Zavolzhsky Motor Plant (now the Zavolzhsky branch of UAZ LLC) until 2021 and were used in many well-known models of commercial vehicles and buses, the Sollers press service reports. According to the director of the Zavolzhsky branch of UAZ LLC, Ilnur Sakhabiev, at present, the demand for the V8 engine line has reappeared in the market - both for new buses and for the secondary spare parts market, and the company sees a clear market need for this engine for the next few years.
As AUTOSTAT previously reported, at the end of November 2022, the Sollers Company launched the production of Atlant and Argo light commercial vehicles at the plant in the Alabuga SEZ. Until the end of the year, the company plans to sell 900 cars under its brand, within two to three years - 30 thousand, in the next 5 years, the volume of sales and production of cars may reach about 50 thousand cars. Cars are available for purchase in more than 50 dealerships in 38 cities of Russia. Prices for Sollers Argo start at 2,559,000 rubles for a manufactured goods van with a diesel engine.
The price of Sollers Atlant starts from 2 million 904 thousand rubles - for this price, an all-metal van with a short base and an average roof with a diesel engine is offered. As noted, the new Sollers models will replace Ford Transit that has left the Russian market.
