MAN and Scania sold Russian assets to local dealers

Truck manufacturers MAN and Scania, which are the part of Traton group of the German automaker Volkswagen, have transferred the assets of Russian subsidiaries MAN Truck and Bus Rus LLC and Scania Rus LLC to their local dealers, follows from the USRLE data. Thus, MAN Truck Chelny LLC received control over 100% of the shares of the Russian representative office of MAN. This company is registered in Tatarstan and is the official dealer of the MAN brand in Kazan and Naberezhnye Chelny. According to the registry, 100% of the shares of the Russian subsidiary of MAN are pledged to foreign legal entities of the Traton SE group, the Finmarket agency writes.

The assets of Scania's Russian subsidiary were also transferred to the ownership of a local dealer, Alfascan LLC, co-owned by Alfa Group JSC (99%) and businessman Radik Garifyanov (1%). The company is an official dealer of Scania trucks and specialized vehicles and has dealerships in Izhevsk, Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, Perm, Ufa and Cheboksary. Earlier, Traton group reported that as a result of transactions of sale of the Russian business of MAN and Scania to local partners, a loss of up to 550 million Euros is expected. MAN and Scania were prominent players in the Russian truck market, accounting for more than 12% in total.

Recall that MAN and Scania in March 2022 decided to stop deliveries of trucks and buses, as well as spare parts to Russia and stop production at an enterprise in St. Petersburg. The Russian plant, which produced MAN and Scania trucks, remains the property of the Traton concern.
