Aurus may start the commercial sales of minivan and motorcycle

Aurus is considering the commercial sales of the Arsenal minivan and the Merlon electric motorcycle. This was announced by Aurus Sales and Service Director Artem Yusupov at the opening of the Aurus Avtodom showroom in St. Petersburg, by noting that in many countries, including Russia, a large number of wealthy car owners change from long sedans to minibuses and use them as a mobile office.

“In the vast majority of cases, Aurus is not the first and not the only car the owner has. In this sense, we understand that Aurus Arsenal is promising, and the motorcycle too,” said Artem Yusupov. According to him, the serial production of the Aurus Merlon electric motorcycle may begin in 2024, but at what capacity it has not been decided yet. Aurus is looking at various options, including hiring a non-automotive plant as a manufacturing partner. Recall that the mass production of Aurus Senat sedans started in May 2021 at a plant in Yelabuga, where the production of a new luxury SUV Aurus Komendant was also launched at the end of November of this year. Production capacities are designed to produce up to 5 thousand cars per a year.

Previously, Aurus cars were produced in a small series format at the facilities of FSUE NAMI, where the production of special versions of Aurus cars is currently ongoing. In 2025, an enterprise in Yelabuga plans to master the production of an extended version of the Senat sedan, which, in turn, will undergo a facelift by that time.
