On December 12th, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation held a regular meeting of the Board of Directors of AVTOVAZ, the participants of which discussed the results of the company's activities in 2022, the implementation of plans for the localization and replacement of components necessary for production, as well as production plans for 2023.
According to the goals announced by the Board of Directors of AVTOVAZ, during 2023 the company will launch the serial production of the restyled LADA Vesta and resume the production of LADA Largus at the site in Togliatti. At the end of the year, AVTOVAZ will produce a pilot lot of e-Largus electric vans at a production site in Izhevsk, the press service of the automaker reports.
Also in 2023, the company aims to return the anti-lock braking system to the vehicle configuration. The company will continue to increase the level of localization of already produced cars and develop new projects. Recall that in 2022, the restoration of supply chains and the prompt replacement of more than 200 positions of components and materials previously blocked for delivery contributed to the restoration of production and the gradual return to the cars produced by the plant of many options, in particular, airbags, ERA-GLONASS unit with mechanical activation system, air conditioner, multimedia, etc.
As previously reported, AVTOVAZ plans to resume the production of LADA vehicles with electronic stability control (ESP) and automatic transmission during 2024. In November this year, the share of LADA brand in the market of new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia exceeded 40%. In 2023, AVTOVAZ aims to keep a share of about 40% of the Russian automotive market, as well as restart export sales.
In 2023, it plans to export about 20 thousand LADA cars, the main foreign markets for the enterprise will be Belarus and Kazakhstan, and possibly some other CIS countries. AVTOVAZ is ready to resume the production of LADA cars at the Kazakh plant "Saryarkaavtoprom", where the supply of vehicle kits was suspended in the first quarter of this year. In addition, AVTOVAZ is exploring new export markets for deliveries of LADA to African countries.
