The launch of EVM Pro electric truck was delayed by a quarter of 2023

Electric Vehicles Manufacturing Rus has postponed the start of serial production of the EVM Pro electric truck to the first quarter of 2023. Ilya Rashkin, CEO of the manufacturer, said it in an interview, by explaining that the delay was due to the search of a new partner instead of the VEB Ventures venture fund, which actually suspended the work after the start of the special military operation. At the same time, he did not disclose a new investor, the deal with which is in the final stage.

In addition, the company also had difficulties due to the fact that some machines were purchased in Europe, but for obvious reasons, it was decided to refuse these deliveries and look for analogues in China. Recall that it was originally planned that the launch of mass production would take place in the third quarter of 2022, later the deadline was shifted to the end of the year. As AUTOSTAT previously reported, in August of 2022, Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Moscow government and the manufacturer of commercial electric vehicles Electric Vehicles Manufacturing Rus signed a special investment contract, according to which EVM undertakes to invest 286 million rubles in the project within 4.5 years. Before the expiration of the SPIC, it is planned to produce more than 3 thousand units of electric transport.

The production site of the EVM Company with a planned capacity of up to 1,000 vehicles per year is located on the territory of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ. The total investment in the project at the time of the launch of production will be more than 900 million rubles. The EVM PRO electric truck was created in cooperation with the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant on the basis of the UAZ Profi chassis. The power reserve of an electric car weighing 3.5 tons on a single charge will be 300 km, the allowable payload can reach 1 ton.
